We woke up to a frosty Sunday morning as temperatures dipped to at least 30 degrees here at the house. Cold enough to leave a thick frost here and there in the yard and on objects throughout the farm.
Planting continued last week with the first round of greens all transplanted plus the first crop of bok choy. We also planted the second round of root crops including a new pink radish, carrots and beets. Rain came through Thursday night into Friday watering all those new transplants and seeds in well. Tonight, we are again seeing rain, wind and cold temperatures.
Last week we picked up 6 certified organic grass fed calves from Jim Burrus who owns and operates a certified organic farm in Jacksonville, IL. They have settled in well.
